    Santalum austrocaledonicum var. austrocaledonicum
    Native to Malaysia, this small tree of 10 to 12 meters has a crown with drooping branches. The oval, evergreen leaves are opposite. Many small flowers are gathered in straw yellow panicles then red. It has the ability to parasitize other plants through anchored suckers.
